2021 Summer Homeless Campaign

As normality comes back on the streets of London, Hand on Heart are embracing for an increase in number of homelessness as emergency accommodation and eviction bans come to an end.

Often the forgotten in our community, Hand on Heart in partnership with Beta Charitable Trust, are providing much needed essential supplies to rough sleepers in London during the Summer.  Supporting homelessness is not just around cold winter months.  Imagine during the hot weather, wearing the same sock, underwear and other items for months on end.

Our Summer pack are geared toward the warmer season and will include items such as: Polo Shirt, T-Shirts, Socks, Underwear, Deodorants, Wet Wipes, Shower gel, Oral Hygiene kit, Hand Sanitisers, Face Masks, Bottled Water packed in a quality Drawstring bag.

In addition, baseball caps and sun scream will be included in our Summer Outreach drives, together with sleeping bags and blankets on request.

When, where and with who?

• Sun 8 August 2021, at Holborn
  – Children of Adam : 100 packs
• Wed 11 August 2021, at Shoredich
  – The Little Things : 120 packs
• Thu 12 August 2021, at Tower Hamlet
  – Our Forgotten Neighbours : 100 packs
• Sun 15 August 2021, at Charing Cross
  – Nishkam SWAT : 100 packs

What we need?

Donations: To provide 500 packs with clean clothes, toiletries & PPE to the homeless and in a safe manner.

£15 will go towards one pack. £105 could help 7 rough sleepers have access to clean clothes & hygiene items.

Hand on Heart Sponsored Walk

Hand on Heart (HoH) volunteers with their family and friends will be undertaking a sponsored 5 mile walk in order to raise funds for homeless campaigns.  They will be joined by guest charities including Beta Charitable Trust, Who is Hussain, Our Forgotten Neighbors and Children of Adam.

The walk will take place on Sat 31^st July 2021 and centered around the HoH’s key Central London Outreach Distribution points and some of London’s famous landmarks. It will also feature a scavenger hunt to keep our volunteers on their toes and to keep them engaged during the walk. Along the route at each checkpoint the registered participants will collect items that are commonly used in the backpacks that are distributed to the homeless. Items such as socks, shirts, toiletries and PPE with the goal of having a complete pack by the end of the walk.

At the penultimate checkpoint the packs will be collected by a distribution team who will hand them out to the homeless and vulnerable individuals that evening. All registered participants will receive a HoH shirt and children will receive a baseball cap and medal for their achievement.
